Mono-stringer staircases use a single beam to support the center of the stair treads from below, allowing light to flow throughout multiple levels of a home. This installation for our client in Deal, New Jersey, enhances the open, airy feel of the home’s minimalistic aesthetic. To create the look of these “floating” stairs, we fabricated everything from iron and finished the stairs and railing in flat black acrylic. The treads and landings feature a z-shaped diamond plate design. The railings include vertical flat bar center supports with horizontal flat bar lines and a top channel with counter-sunk holes that house a wooden handrail. It all comes together with simple, clean angles that complement this estate’s contemporary interiors. Whether you’re looking for a modern twist on classic looks or something more traditional, we will work with you to create something amazing.
