First, we fabricated a frame out of 2”x1/2” Marine-grade Stainless-steel flat bar that could fit over the existing stairs and receive special treads and a custom entry railing. One of our main goals here was to lower the rise and widen the treads of each step so that going up and down would take less effort even for those with limited mobility. We fashioned special treads out of Starboard Material, a UV-resistant thermoplastic material used on boats and near water that’s sturdy and less slippery. We then added a custom Stainless-steel pipe rail finished in 180 Satin to ensure homeowners and guests have something to grab firmly when getting in and out of the water. The overall result made this hot tub ready to be easily enjoyed by all!
